Public input sought by school board
By By Stacey Hancock/The Meridian Star
The Meridian School Board invites the public to attend tonight's board meeting at 5 p.m. at Crestwood Elementary School.
The meeting is one of a series held not in the central office boardroom, but at public schools throughout the district.
School board members say the purpose of these meetings is to give parents a comfortable atmosphere and encourage them to voice their ideas, opinions and complaints freely.
At 5:30 p.m., in a meeting in the library of Meridian High School, architects from the firm Landry and Lewis of Hattiesburg will hear public comments about the campus. The firm has been hired by the district to do long-range planning for Meridian High School's building and grounds.
The next school board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18, at West End Elementary School.
