Meridian SOS: Veteran says the United States in distress

By By Ben Alexander/The Meridian Star
Believing that this year's presidential election has pushed the United States to the verge of crisis, Meridianite Donald Brett Cook is displaying a distress signal from his yard U.S. flags flown with the star fields down.
Cook said he is flying two U.S. flags upside down to send out the signal. By tradition, ships at sea display the Stars and Stripes upside down as a distress signal.
Cook said people need to understand how America's system of government works in order to understand what's at stake in this election.
However, Cook says there is one way to convince him to stop flying his flags with the star field down.
