Services for Velma Gladys Hayes will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Karl Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes, 92, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness. A faithful servant of Jehovahs Witness for 47 years, she stood fast and held true to her faith through all trials and tribulations of this world.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Ray Hayes and his wife, Janice, of Meridian, and William Lloyd Hayes of Brandon; four daughters, Velma Jean Spears and her husband, Cohen, of Linden, Ala., Dorothy Ann Wilson of Lauderdale, Aileen Elizabeth Watkins and her husband, Johnny, of Meridian, and Linda Faye Bills and her husband, Ted, of North Port, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Harris McCoy will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. M.C. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCoy, 45, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in DeKalb. He was employed at Atlas Roofing.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Betts McCoy of DeKalb; two daughters, April Chalaum McCoy and Asia Che-Neir McCoy, both of DeKalb; three sisters, Sadie Clark, of Talladega, Ala., Myra Curry of Munford, Ala., and Tracey D. McCoy of DeKalb; five brothers, Raymond McCoy, Stanford McCoy and William R. McCoy, all of DeKalb, Sid McCoy Jr. of Scooba and Jimmie McCoy, of Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
SADIE BUTLER

Services for Sadie Butler will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Parker Chancellor, Hal Bates and Danny Blaint officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler, 87, of the Whynot community, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was born at Causeyville on June 27, 1918 to the late Edd and Claudie Chatham. She was the neighborhood baby-sitter and also was a caregiver to the families in the community. She was famous for her biscuits, chicken and dumplings, chocolate pie and chocolate cake. Her favorite pastime was to fish with Aunt Callie Butler. She would put on her cap, blue jeans, shirt and away they would go for the day to fish in the neighborhood pond. She was a Christian and a member of Center Grove Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for the children's group. She enjoyed her class, gospel music, attending gospel concerts and singing gospel hymns. She will always be remembered for her scary bed-time stories, funny games and blowing into her fist to make a sound of a train whistle.
Mother, you have suffered many aches and pains during your lifetime. Every effort was made to comfort your aches and pains. I have fed you, turned you, lifted you, bathed you and walked you. It comforts me to know I did everything possible to meet your needs. You are in a place now that has no suffering and pain.
Survivors include a daughter, Rowena Saucier of Collinsville; a son, Martin Ray Butler and his wife, Amy, of Whynot; a brother, John Chatham of Whynot; eight grandchildren, Van Scott, of Bessemer, Ala., Kristin Mayatt of Collinsville, Vickie Davidson, Jerry Butler, Steve Butler, Kenneth Ray Butler and Amanda Comans, all of Whynot, and Darren Comans of Orlando, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.M. Butler Jr., and other members of her family, Lloyd Chatham, Adie Chatham, Curtis and Harve Chatham, Vernell Landrum and Essie Shirley.
ESSIE EDWARDS COMFORT WEBB

A memorial service for Essie Edwards Comfort Webb will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating.
Mrs. Webb, 88, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Klimetz of Meridian; a son, Van R. Comfort Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Van R. Comfort and James T. Webb, and a son, Dr. Gail R. Comfort.
The family requests memorials be made to the Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church Building Fund.

DEKALB Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Arggie "Nell" Micheau, 45, of Savoy, who died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
