Clarkdale shuts out Magee

The soccer teams at Clarkdale High School continued their fine seasons Thursday night, as both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs earned victories in local prep soccer action.
The Clarkdale girls improved to 3-2 on the season with a 1-0 win over North Forrest; while the Clarkdale boys are now 5-1 after spanking Magee 9-0.
The Lady Bulldogs are in action again Tuesday at South Jones, while the Bulldogs will also be in action Tuesday against Philadelphia.
In the girls' match, Bethany Spidle scored the only goal of the game as the Lady Bulldogs ran their record to 2-1 in division play.
Senior Morgan Wright had the assist on Spidle's goal.
In the boys' contest, the Bulldogs got four goals from Jonathan Pickett as they rolled past the Trojans.
Mark Taylor added a pair of goals, while David Prewitt, Jake Gray and Tyler Swanner all scored one goal each for Clarkdale.
Justin Culpepper had a pair of assists, while Prewitt, Ted Thompson, Paul Gower and Daniel Warren had one assist each.
