WILLIAM M. GAY
Retired from Atlas Roofing
Services for William M. "Bill" Gay will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Gay, 72, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Riley Hospital. He was born in Newnan, Ga., and attended Emory at Oxford University and the University of Georgia. Mr. Gay was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He retired from Atlas Roofing after 14 years as vice president of manufacturing.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Smith Gay of Meridian; three children, Susan Daley and her husband, Bud, of Powder Springs, Ga., Lauren Long and her husband, Doug, of Evansville, Ind., and Mickey Gay and his wife, Susan, of Cornelius, N.C.; two stepchildren, Dennis Hicks and his wife, Veronica, and Bill Hicks and his wife, Debbie, all of Meridian; nine grandchildren, Matt Daley, Sydney Long, Brent Long, Kelly Gay, Michael Gay and Cody, Kyle, Dusty and Emily Hicks; a sister, Mildred Spradlin and his mother, Annie Ray Gay, both of Brooks, Ga.; and his mother-in-law, Bertha Smith of Union.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Sue Wright Gay; and his father, W.M. Gay.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Leukemia Association or West Wood Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
DOROTHY FAYE ACKER
Homemaker, part-time Realtor
Memorial services for Dorothy Faye Acker will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with her son, Greg Acker, and other family members officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Acker, 70, of Lewisville, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in her home. She was a homemaker and part-time Realtor who had lived in Meridian most of her adult life.
Survivors include a son, Greg Acker of Coppell, Texas; a daughter, Deborah Acker of Lavallette, N.J.; two sisters, Lavelle Haggard of Mobile, Ala., and Velma Hooks of Louisville; two brothers, Buren Ruth of Vicksburg and Charlie Ruth of Longview, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Erin Acker, Jonathan Acker and Austin Acker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Acker, and a son, Randy Acker.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association in Mrs. Acker's name.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Reeda Mae Sheely Warren, 92, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Meridian Community Living Center.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for William H. "Bill" Estes, 73, of Newton, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Jackson.
