Connecting with Nissan

By Staff
The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation has embarked on a drive to find new connections between local businesses and the billion-dollar Nissan plant going into Madison County.
Meridian's location, as we have pointed out before, between Mercedes to the east and Nissan to the west should offer good opportunities for manufacturers, distributors and service providers.
EMBDC reported the other day it is planning strategy on recruiting tier-one suppliers to this area and meeting to find out details to help connect with companies. A direct mail campaign to automotive suppliers is being prepared for distribution to more than 600 companies.
Hopefully, some new connections will be found over the next few months and companies which service Nissan or its major suppliers may find a new home in the Meridian area. In the meantime, interested businesses may want to connect with a new Web site on the Nissan project: www.mississippiandnissan.com.
