Students attending MSU-Meridian for the first time this spring are invited to take part an orientation to familiarize themselves with the campus.
Three sessions are scheduled to coincide with walk-in registration, Jan. 2-3. The orientation program will last about an hour, allowing new students to learn about computer and library resources, obtain parking permits and identification cards and meet other incoming students.
The Maroon Network, a group of current MSU-Meridian students, will acquaint new students with the campus through tours and small group sessions.
Students who have not already applied for admission or seen an adviser may do so during walk-in registration. Those who took advantage of registration by appointment are also encouraged to attend orientation. Family members and guests are welcome.
Since MSU-Meridian is an upper-division campus, all of its students have attended college before. Still, the staff wants to make sure new students are familiar with the resources available at the Meridian Campus and through MSU, as well as important procedures and policies regarding enrollment, said Lesa Aymami, recruiting and marketing coordinator.
More information about orientation can be obtained by telephone at 484-0136 or e-mail at info@mail.meridian.msstate.edu.
