Although Steve Nichols started his new job as chief executive officer at Riley Hospital Monday, he said it was Tuesday before he knew he was in the right place.
Nichols, a native of Selmer, Tenn., comes to Meridian from Columbus, Ga., where he was administrator of Doctors' Hospital.
His wife, Bonnie, said her first priority after getting settled in her new home is to entertain.
The couple said they feel Meridian is perfect for what they have in mind for their future.
The family is Baptist, and they have traditionally taken an active role in church and community activities in the communities where they have lived.
The new CEO at Riley brings with him 25 years of health care experience. His appointment coincides with a major renovation of the emergency department and patient rooms.
