Graveside services for Lucille Ivy Baker will be held today at 1 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Kaufman officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Baker, 83, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in her home. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church
Survivors include a brother, Albert Ivy and his wife Kate, and a special niece, Mrs. Louise Miller, all of Meridian; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Baker.
Visitation will be held today from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Marbeth Snowden Lee will be held today at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Merrill V. Snowden officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lee, 84, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in her home. She was born in Meridian. Her family lived for many years in Corpus Christi, where she taught school until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi and was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Chris Barnes and her husband, Roger, of Port St. Lucie; a brother, Merril V. Snowden and his wife, Annette, of Temple, Texas; two grandsons, Warren Barnes and Damon Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.P. and Agnes Snowden; a grandson, Russell Hills of Meridian; a brother, Millard Snowden; and a sister, Myra Hawkins.
Visitation will be today after 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

UNION Services for Edna Ruth Burton Smith will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Chuck Herring officiating. Burial will be in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, 74, of Richland, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Brandon.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Stringer of Richland, and Jimmie Canterbury of Brandon; a son, Vaughn Smith of Richland; two sisters, Juanice Cleveland of Union, and Pearlene Eshee of Pensacola, Fla.; her stepmother, Zora Thomas of Mobile, Ala.; four grandchildren, Jonathan Stringer of Brandon, Andrea Stringer Dykes of Dallas, Texas, Eric Stringer of Richland, and Brittany Canterbury, also of Brandon; and a great granddaughter, Bailey Lauren Dykes of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Smith; a son, James Franklin Smith Jr.; and a brother, Pace Burton.
Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Brenda Watkins will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Watkins, 52, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband, Nolan Watkins of Philadelphia; three daughters, Mandy Coghlan and Crystal Gail Watkins, both of Philadelphia, and Ginger Broome of Sumrall; a sister, Gwinda Federick of Carthage; a brother, Charles Ray Hogue, also of Carthage; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Hazel Lee Newell will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with burial in Lockhart Cemetery.
Mrs. Newell, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

PHILADELPHIA Services for John James "Buck" Alderman will be held today at 2 p.m.at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Service with the Rev. John Stephens and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating. Burial will be in Ocobla Cemetery.
Mr. Alderman, 80, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in Philadelphia. He was a retired exterminator and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Alderman of Philadelphia; a son, James Henry Alderman of Philadelphia; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
BOBBIE JEAN JOHN VELEZ
SEBASTOPOL Services for Bobbie Jean John Velez will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church with the Rev. Emerson Isaac officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Velez, 44, of Dallas, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Velez Jr. of Dallas; two daughters, Delia Nahama Martinez and Nateska Velez, both of Dallas; two sons, Salminen John and Rocky Paul Velez, both of Dallas; four sisters, Jennie D. Jackson, Vannell Billy, Laurine Jackson and Ida J. Sam, all of Philadelphia; a brother, Bobby Lee John of Philadelphia; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roby and Sally Willis John.

SEBASTOPOL Services for Georgie Ann Samples will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Mennonite Pearl River with the Rev. Glenn Mars officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Standing Pine with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Samples, 67, of Newport, Tenn., died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Knoxville, Tenn.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Samples, Johnny Samples and Lonnie Samples, all of Bybee, Tenn.; her mother, Elsie Briscoe of Philadelphia; five sisters, Linda Walker and Debra Star, both of Dallas, Texas, Lena John, Dianne Hickman and Sophia Raines, all of Philadelphia; four brothers, Curtis Briscoe of New Mexico, Jimmy Briscoe and Tommy Briscoe, both of Dallas, and Venon Briscoe of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
