Hours before local homeowners returned to discover their house had been burglarized Friday, local authorities discovered what they believe was taken in the break-in.
He said, in the meantime, deputies were questioning four suspects taken into custody earlier in the day during a raid of what appeared to be the headquarters of a burglary ring.
He said 17-year-old Charles Barnett, of 821 A St., and 21-year-old Billy Joe Sumrall, of Lot No. 95 at 2704 Valley Road Mobile Home Trailer Park, were arrested after sheriff's officials raided the Valley Road trailer park and seized about a dozen gun several of which were reported missing three hours later.
The arrests were the result of a tip from a concerned citizen, he said.
Reports said the unnamed victims were also residents of Valley Road, but did not reside in the trailer park.
The weapons found in the raid included handguns, rifles and shotguns. Authorities also confiscated electronic equipment, such as stereos and TVs, that may also have been taken in recent break-ins.
