The Scott Central Lady Rebels improved to 13-6 with a tough win over the Pisgah Lady Dragons.
The Lady Rebels were down after one, but came back to take a four-point lead at the half and extended it to a half dozen heading into the fourth.
Chelsea Gross and Lillian Williams paced the Lady Dragons with 14 and 11, respectively. SCHS got the W' behind Britney Burks' 28 point effort and Katie Nixon's 16 points and eight rebounds.
Southern Choctaw 85, Leroy 78: The Indians responded to their win in the Enterprise Invitational by beating region foe Leroy. Marques Hill led the way with 21 points and Marcus McGrew had an all-around game with 18 points and 11 boards, as the Indians (11-5) jumped out to the early 19-7 lead after the first quarter.
The Bears were able to stay close as Drew Powell powered his way to 25 points.
Other Indians who stepped up were Shawn Causey with 12 points and 13 assists and Marlon McMillian, who tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Indians will host Washington County, the No. 2-ranked team in Class 3A today beginning at 6 p.m.
Silva Bay girls 59, Wayne 25: The Lady Saints (18-6) began the night with a 59-25 demolishing of the Wayne Lady Jaguars. Lauren Husbands 29 points did the trick, as SBA outscored its hosts 37-9 in the second half. Amber Carlisle and Ingrid Norvell chipped in with 12 and 10, respectively. For Wayne, three players collected seven points each. They were: Kerri Hutto, Brittney Norsworthy and Erin Stanley.
SBA boys 55, Wayne 41: Down six at the half, the Jaguars needed a good quick start in the third stanza. They didn't get it, as the Saints improved to 12-8 by virtue of the 21-8 quarter. Caleb Deese torched the defense for 31, while Andres Norvell had 10. Wayne stayed respectable behind a 23-point effort form Steven Wood. Barrett Tynes added eight.
Silva Bay hosts the Winston Academy Patriots Thursday night.
