Clarke County authorities say because area sheriff's investigators are working closely together, they finally have a chance to stop a rash of burglaries plaguing homeowners in several counties.
Harper said two suspects picked up Wednesday by Lauderdale County Sheriff's investigators are believed to be among those responsible for break-ins in Clarke, Jasper and Lauderdale counties.
Charles R. Barnett, 17, of 821 A St., and Kelly P. Brown Jr., 18, of 2704 Valley Home Road, Apt. 95, were placed in the Clarke County Jail Thursday and and face charges of burglary of a dwelling. The pair are among those questioned last week in Lauderdale County after sheriff's investigators raided Valley Mobile Home Trailer Park and confiscated a dozen weapons and several pieces of electronic equipment.
