Workshops, networking on tap at women's conference

JACKSON The Mississippi-born publisher of W Magazine, Alyce C. Alston, will headline a list of participants in Women's Conference 2001, scheduled here in March.
The conference, co-sponsored by Mississippi First Lady Melanie Musgrove, will feature educational workshops, exhibits and networking opportunities. Topics for discussion include entrepreneurship, aromatherapy, interview protocol, time management, geriatric care, self defense and other women's issues.
Alston, publisher and vice president of W Magazine, is one of Advertising Age's 2000 Media Mavens. She has had extensive publishing experience working for O, The Oprah Magazine, YM and TV Guide.
Mississippi Women's Conference 2001 is also sponsored by St. Dominic's Health Services and River Region Health System. The event is open to all and is held in commemoration of National Women's History Month.
Pre-registration and on-site registration will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
