OBITUARIES FOR TUESDAY, JAN. 23, 2001

BERNICE EUBANKS
UNION Services for Bernice Eubanks will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charles Morrow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Eubanks, 92, of Union, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, in Bedford, Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Eubanks and his wife, Sue, of Euless and Glen Eubanks and his wife, Marie, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two brothers, Malcom Ezell and his wife, Cecil, of Union and Marshall Ezell and his wife, Mary, of Arizona; a sister, Christine Addy and her husband, Homer, of Newton; four grandchildren, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Imogene Williamson McCombs will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mars Hill United Methodist Church with the Revs. Roy Garrett, Ray Boyd and Jerry Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McCombs, 79, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, in her home. She was a native of the Shady Grove community and a longtime resident of Huntsville, Ala. She moved back to Neshoba County five years ago. She was a loving wife and mother and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Ann Adler of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, Guy C. McCombs III and John Franklin McCombs, both of Philadelphia and, Charles Andrew McCombs of Florence, Ala.; three sisters, Joe Williamson, Onie Mae Williamson and Wilma Kirk, all of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy C. McCombs II and a grandson, Guy C. McCombs IV.
The family requests memorials be made to Hospice South in Philadelphia.
Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
VARDAMAN VANCE
Retired school teacher
UNION Services for Vardaman Vance will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at New Ireland Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Erin Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vance, 80, of Union, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Laird Hospital in Union. He was a member of New Ireland Baptist Church and also served as a Gideon.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Vance of Union; a daughter, Geneva Nelson of Starkville; a son, Donald Vance of Union; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, A.A. Vance and a half sister, Ora Mae Cahoon.
The family requests memorials be made to Newton County Gideons.
Visitation will be today from 4:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
DR. WILLIAM APPERSON

Services for Dr. William Apperson will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Apperson, 70, of Meridian, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
HAROLD SOSEBEE
Retired residential builder
Services for Harold Sosebee will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sosebee, 74, of Meridian, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, in his home. He served in the Korean Conflict. He built many private homes in the Meridian area.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Sosebee of Meridian; a daughter, Charlotte Brooks and her husband, Freddie, of Meridian; two sons, Dewayne Sosebee and his wife, Jane, and Carl Sosebee and his wife, Kay, all of Meridian; five sisters, two brothers, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
LILLIAN KING BENSON

PHILADELPHIA Services for Lillian King Benson will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Oral Withrow officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Church of God Cemetery in Dixon.
Mrs. Benson, 96, of Columbus, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Arlington Court Nursing Home in Columbus.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Withrow of Anderson, Ind., and Caroline McCutcheon of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Dr. Harry Benson of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and the Rev. Howard Benson of Springfield, Ohio; a brother, Lawrence King of Ravenna, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L.V. Benson.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
