The Clarkdale High School soccer team picked up a 4-3 victory over Wayne County Thursday night in the final regular season game of the season.
The Bulldogs, now 11-4, are watching tonight's Newton County-Philadelphia game. A Newton County win would put Clarkdale in the state playoffs.
The score was tied at 2-all at the half. Ted Thompson and Jonathan Pickett each scored a goal for Clarkdale. After the War Eagles went up 3-2, David Prewitt tied the game with 3-3 and then put in another goal with two minutes lefts to put the Bulldogs over the top.
Earlier this week, Clarkdale took a 4-2 win over Newton County. Prewitt and Ted Thompson each scored a goal to put the Bulldogs up 2-1 at the half.
Paul Gowen scored a goal to give Clarkdale a 3-1 edge. Newton County pulled back within one goal, but Jonathan Pickett's goal settled the issue for the Bulldogs.
