Mr. and Mrs. William A. Lindsey of Madison, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Ann, to Floyd Davis Wade III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Davis Wade Jr. of Newton.
The ceremony will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at 6 p.m. in the Ida Carson Memorial Chapel at Callaway Gardens.
Miss Lindsey is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heckman of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Nelle Lindsey and the late Robert E. Lindsey Sr. of Huntsville.
The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of North Alabama School of Nursing.
Mr. Wade is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison Cady Sr. of Douglas, Ga., and F. Davis Wade Sr. of Meridian and Nell D. Wade of Jackson.
The bridegroom-elect currently attends Jacksonville State University, where he is majoring in sports studies/physical education. He is serving in the JSU baseball program as a student assistant coach and is a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity.
A reception will be held at Virginia Hand Discovery Center at Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, Ga.
TAYLOR, WRIGHT
Miss Shuntee L. Taylor will become the bride of Alvis A. Wright II during a wedding scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001. The 2 p.m. ceremony will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Emma J. Taylor and goddaughter of Alice R. Sloan of Meridian. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Alvis Wright and Vernell Wright of Pontotoc.
Ms. Taylor is the granddaughter of the late Vanary Taylor and the late Ossie Taylor, both of Meridian.
A graduate of Meridian High School, the bride-elect received a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a master of science degree in recreation therapy at the University of Southern Mississippi.
While attending USM, she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Ms. Taylor is currently employed by Gulf Oaks Hospital.
Mr. Wright is the grandson of Jennie Wright and the late Albert Wright and Jeff Bean and Willie Lou Cook.
A graduate of Pontotoc High School, the bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
While attending USM, he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Mr. Wright is currently employed by the Alabama Power Company.
A reception will be held at the Union Station following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
