NEWTON Services for Mary Lou Howard will be held at a later day at Price Funeral Home chapel in Mount Victory, Ohio. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway, Ohio. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Howard, 64, of Lake, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Newton Regional Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Clara Adair of Lake; three sons, Dean Ferguson of Lake, Gary Hindes of Round Lake, Ill., and John Buddy Wolf; two sisters, Janet Arledge of Ashville, Ohio, and Donna Grim of Bellefontine, Ohio; four brothers, Jim Wren of Kenton, Ohio, David Wren of Florida, Sam Wren of Canton, Ohio, and Jerry Wren of Columbus, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Jesse Lawson Wren.
JAMES EDWARD CLARK
PHILADELPHIA Services for James Edward Clark will be held today at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Barnett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clark, 78, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley McDonald of Meridian, and Jean Dickerson of Decatur; two sons, Walter Ronald Clark of Meridian and Ronald Gussie Clark of DeKalb; three sisters, Juanita Gray, Audrey Nell Adkins and Dora Rivers, all of Philadelphia; a brother, Wilbur Clark of Belzoni; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
ELLERY HOUSTON BALLARD
QUITMAN Services for Ellery Houston Ballard will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Tony Meinhardt and Horace Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Ballard, 73, of Stonewall, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in Stonewall.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy Joyce Barry of Brandon and Lola Beth Dorman of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Teddy Ballard of Quitman; two sisters, Frances Baker of Enterprise and Charlotte Parker of Mobile, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
ELSIEl V. BENNETT
STARKVILLE Services for Elsie V. Bennett will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. David McCubbin officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Welch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bennett, 87, of Starkville, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. She attended the University of Tennessee, where she studied nursing. She then met and married Dr. Hackett Bennett, and they both contributed to the war effort using their education in various locations. They then settled in Meridian where they raised five children.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia A. Thompson and Kay S. Bennett, both of Asheville, N.C.; two sons, James H. Bennett of Galveston, Texas, and Wade R. G. Bennett of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Naomi Shermer of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and a half brother, Leland Venable of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
