NorthPark Church in Meridian was the setting for the candlelight ceremony uniting Karie Iann Craven and Charles Bradley Woodall.
The wedding was held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, with the Rev. Earl T. Wheatley Jr. conducting the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne Craven of Collinsville. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cluis Carpenter Daniels of Collinsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Craven Sr. of Meridian.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eugene Woodall of Bailey. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Laston Loyle Webb of Edinburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elisha Woodall of Bailey.
A program of nuptial music was provided by Ann Wilcher Craven of Meridian, organist; Sandra Wilson Harris of Ridgeland, harpist; Sue Ellen Shoffiett of Meridian, flautist; and Ronald Phillip Widener of Meridian, trumpeter. Vocalists for the ceremony were Nanette Christine Wise and Christopher Lee Courtney Sr., both of Meridian.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an original strapless gown. The fitted bodice was encrusted with jeweled beading cascading onto a full tulle skirt. Her two-tiered, cathedral-length veil of illusion fell from an original tiara of Australian crystals designed to complement her gown. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white lilies, roses and freesia.
Courtney Daine Craven of Collinsville served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids wee Leigh Ann Ballou of Madison, sister of the bridegroom; Jamie Elizabeth Campbell of Charlotte, N.C.; Ericka Leigh Daniels of St. Johns, Mich., cousin of the bride; Erin Anne Dickerson of Cordova, Tenn; Leigh Craven Moore of Collinsville, cousin of the bride; Courtney Jones Rust of Dallas; Amber Drake Sehrt of Arlington, Va.; and Dallas Reese Sorrell of Roanoke, Va.
The bridesmaids wore a two-piece gown of white silk crepe designed with a fitted bodice. the scooped neckline and thin straps were trimmed in the same jeweled beading on the bridal gown. They carried hand-tied bouquets of white roses.
Serving the bridegroom as best man was his father. Groomsmen were William Bolton Ballou, Bruce Tinsley Black and Paul Anthony Koury, all of Madison; John Thomas Felder of Summit; Hanson Haynes Hinton and John Colin McRae, both of Meridian; Jeffrey William Sondermeyer of Seattle; and Scott Ellis Sprabery of Houston.
Flower girls were Mary Webb Ballou of Madison, niece of the bridegroom, and Melonie Victoria Craven of Nashville, cousin of the bride. Ring bearers were Elliott Nathan Daniels of Huntsville and Collin Andrew Kendall of Oklahoma City, cousins of the bride.
Phyllis Campbell of Meridian was wedding director. Program attendants were William Zachary Riggs of Atlanta, Lance Murphy Goodman and Luke Carson Goodman, both of Collinsville, all cousins of the bride.
Rice girl and rice boy were Delaney Kay Wellman of Meridian and Trent Kellis Moore of Collinsville, cousins of the bride.
A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at Northwood Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents honored the couple with a dinner at Weidmann's Restaurant. Guests were entertained with jazz music by Carey Smith and Friends.
After a wedding trip to Bora Bora and Tahiti, the couple will reside in Bailey.
PIKE, KENDALL
Annie New Kendall and Herbert Franklin Pike, both of of Pinehurst, N.C., were married Friday, June 16, 2000, at Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, with the Rev. Dr. Ben Bishop officiating.
Parents of the couple are Louise New Snowen and the late Irvin D. New of Meridian and Margaret Pike and the late Sam E. Pike of Silver City, N.C.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Dorothy Taylor, organist, and Susan Bishop, soloist.
Escorted by her brother, Irvin Dwight New of Columbus, Ga., the bride wore a formal-length gown of silk satin and lace featuring a fitted bodice and Renaissance sleeves of lace accented with clear sequins and pearls. The long, fitted skirt featured a border of matching lace and pearls.
Rebecca Rogers Kubler of Atlanta was matron of honor. Jerry P. Pike of Silver City, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man.
Program attendants were Elizabeth New, Christopher New and Emily New, nieces and nephews of the bride.
A reception was held at the couple's lake front home.
After a honeymoon in London, the couple resides in Pinehurst.
