BETTYE JO HERRINGTON BLACKWELL
Services for Bettye Jo Herrington Blackwell will be held today at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Church with the Revs. Curtis Dyer, Wallace Terry and Kenny Pogue officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Blackwell, 68, of Collinsville, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a loving mother and wife. She was a member of Pine Grove Church.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Blackwell of Collinsville; a daughter, Donna Jackson and her husband, Brent, of Collinsville; three sons, Hal Herrington and his wife, Tammy, and Tony Herrington and his wife, Wanda, all of Collinsville and Bernie Herrington and his wife, Pam, of Brandon; two stepdaughters, Mona Mayatt and her husband, Tom, of Quitman, and Pat Burnett and her husband, the Rev. Artie Burnett; two stepsons, Rick Blackwell and his wife, Kathy, of Meridian and Steve Blackwell and his wife, Carol Ann, of Meridian; three sisters, Bobbie Ethridge and Frances Skelton Brewer, both of Meridian and Nellie Herrington of Oneta, Ala.; a brother, A.J. "Bud" Lee of Meridian; seven grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Burkett Herrington.
Pallbearers will be Brent Jackson, Hal Herrington, Bernie Herrington, Tony Herrington, Michael Jackson and Matt Mayatt.
Visitation will be today beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
JAMES M. BRIGGS
Retired railroad employee
Services for James M. "Red" Briggs will be held today at 2 p.m. at Barham Chapel with the Revs. Paul Davis and Malcolm Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Briggs Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Briggs, 74, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Rush Foundation Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Briggs were married for 46 years. He was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church and an honorary member of Briggs Chapel. He retired from CMSU Railroad and from I.C. Railroad. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. and D.A.V. He was also a Mason and served in World War II. He owned and operated Briggs Store and Bait Shop for many years and was also a tree farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Ann Briggs of Meridian; two daughters, Annie Coss and her husband, Mike, and Dotti Briggs, all of Meridian; a son, Capp Briggs of Meridian; four grandchildren, Amber Goss, Phillip Hays, Lee Hays and James Bradley Briggs.
The family requests memorials be made to a charity of choice or East Community College Chapel Fund.
Pallbearers will be John Dirkensen, Greg Briggs, Joe Reid, Robbie Everett, Billy Harry Jr., Ed Edmonds, Martin Buchanan and Dan Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men's Sunday school class of Northcrest Baptist Church and retired railroad men.
SELBY CRENSHAW

PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for Selby Crenshaw will be held today at 1 p.m. at Neshoba Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Collins officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Crenshaw, 65, of Brandon, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Marlyn May Crenshaw of Brandon, a daughter, Connie Crenshaw Shoemaker of Terry and his mother, Muriel Driskell Crenshaw of Union.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Crenshaw.
PEARLIE MAE LARD

Services for Pearlie Mae Lard will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Herman Baptist Church in York, Ala. with the Rev. M.C. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lard, 82, of Lauderdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include four daughters, Catherine Brown of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Maggie Jolly and her husband, Melvin, of Eutaw, Ala., Frances Webb and her husband, Johnny, and Fannie Eason and her husband, James, all of Lauderdale; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
