Palmer: Looking for chance to see projects completed

Ward 4 Councilman Jesse E. Palmer Sr. says his first three terms in office are among the most enjoyable time in his life, but the next four years could be the most exciting.
The 33-year teaching veteran said he and other city leaders have been working to accomplish more street paving and, while he has been pleased with the results, he says much remains to be done.
Of all his accomplishments, Palmer said his proudest came during work on the city's Project Pride, an effort to revitalize a portion of his ward and make it safer for residents.
Palmer said in recent years more than $1.5 to $2 million has been spent in the clean-up effort in his ward.
Although Palmer said he is pleased with the progress made in the area he says the work there isn't finished.
One project Palmer would like to see is a new bridge to cross over 29th Avenue, which he says would make the area more easily accessible for emergency vehicles.
