You've seen him in magazine ads, in television commercials and even on national TV shows such as "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Today Show."
Now, Meridian residents can meet in person Jared Fogle, the "Subway" guy who lost 245 pounds.
Fogle will be in Meridian Thursday as part of a tour of the U.S. to reveal his incredible loss of 26 inches in his waistline and share with others how "Subway helped saved (his) life and start over."
Fogle's success story started after he noticed a Subway sign advertising "7 subs with 6 grams of fat or less." In March 1998, the then 425-pound Indiana University student created his own Subway regimen consisting of a 6-inch turkey sub for lunch and a foot-long veggie sub for dinner. That, combined with daily walks and exercise, motivated him to his phenomenal weight loss and propelled him into the national spotlight.
Less than a year later, Jared weighed in at 190 pounds. Today, Fogle continues to maintain his weight with the help of Subway and regular exercise. Through his appearances and articles, Fogle has motivated others with his story. According to the national food chain, hundreds of people have come forward with their success stories.
