Tanner Brock struck out eight in eight innings as Mississippi State completed a sweep of Auburn with an 8-2 victory Sunday.
Brent Lewis went 3-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to 11 games, while Phillip Willingham had a pair of singles for the Bulldogs (9-5, 3-0 Southeastern Conference).
Auburn (16-4, 0-3 SEC) scored single runs in the second and third innings, but Brock (2-1) allowed just three baserunners the rest of the way.
Chris Young completed the game with an inning of shutout relief.
LeVale Springer (4-1) took the loss for the Tigers.
Southern Mississippi 8, New Orleans 0: Michael Artman and Dusty Haley each homered Sunday as Southern Mississippi turned the tables and blanked New Orleans 8-0.
UNO (8-7) beat the Golden Eagles 3-0 on Saturday in New Orleans as Privateer pitcher Tom Lipari threw the first nine-inning no-hitter in school history.
On Sunday, USM (12-6) hammered out 13 hits, including three by Jeff Cook. The Golden Eagles scored five runs on five hits in the fifth inning.
Jeff Miller and Justin Guilbeau each went 2-for-3 for the Privateers.
Shea Douglas (2-1) scattered six hits in seven innings, striking out five.
Kentucky 7, Ole Miss 6: Morgan Embry knocked in two runs with a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning to cap a five-run comeback and give Kentucky the win.
Spencer Preston and Seth Morris each homered for the Wildcats (8-8, 2-1 SEC).
Matt Tolbert was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for Ole Miss (14-5, 1-2), which built a 6-1 lead in in the first three innings.
Mark Michael (2-2) pitched 6 1-3 innings of relief, allowing just two hits and one run.
Ronnie Goodwin started and allowed 10 hits and six runs in 7 1-3 innings for the Rebels. Nathan Lyons (2-1) faced just one batter and it turned out to be the winning run.
Delta State 14, Christian Brothers 1: DSU exploded for 14 runs on 17 hits to win game three of a Gulf South Conference series over Christian Brothers University. The game was stopped in the seventh inning due to the NCAA 10-run mercy rule.
The Statesmen improved to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in GSC West Division play. Christian Brothers fell to 6-9 overall and 2-4. Tremain Rogers pitched six strong innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits with one strikeout to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Delta State scored a run in the first and four in the second to take a quick 5-0 advantage. Marcus Van Every, who was 2-for-4 with four RBI on the afternoon, grounded out to score Bradly Clay in the first.
Brady Jones and Eric Smith had RBI singles in the four-run second.
Four more runs came across in the fourth. Frank Smith singled home Patrick Ferriss, who led off the inning with a walk. Van Every doubled to left field Two batters later to score Frank Smith. Eli Whiteside capped the inning with a double to left center that plated Clay and Van Every and give DSU a 9-0 advantage.
The lead expanded to 14-0 when five more runs crossed the plate in the sixth. Clay had an RBI double followed by a two-run double by Steven Tomaszewski and an RBI single by Ferriss to highlight the inning.
Christian Brothers only run of the day came on a wild pitch that scored Brad Adams in the bottom of the seventh. Jesse Boyd was the CBU starter and pitcher of record. Boyd lasted just one inning, giving up four runs on four hits to fall to 1-2.
Delta State is scheduled to host Trinity at 5 p.m. at Ferriss Field today.
