The Meridian Community College golf team didn't get any time off for spring break as it traveled to Auburn Links, Ala., to face some grueling junior college competition earlier this week.
MCC paced all Division II teams entered in the tournament by posting a 36-hole team total of 613 (306-307). Berry College took home the trophy with an impressive 585.
Head coach Lou Hart's Eagles finished ahead of formidable foe John A. Logan which is currently ranked ahead of the Meridian linksters in the national poll by three stokes.
Sophomores Morgan Stewart and Dan Luke led the Eagle charge, with Stewart posting a 149 (74-75), and Luke carding a total of 152 (76-76).
Cameron Hunt also posted a 152 (78-74), much to the liking of Hart.
Rounding out the scoring for Meridian was Brandon Laird with a total of 160 (78-82), and Jamie Sullivan with a 163 (79-84).
