DAUSMAN, FRENCH
Brandi Suzanne French of Atlanta and David Robert Dausman of Jackson were married Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in an outdoor ceremony, conducted ocean side in a gazebo, at the Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The Rev. Karen Koons of Hattiesburg and the Rev. Jeff Vermilya of Atlanta, uncle of the bridegroom, officiated.
Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Terry Marshall French of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Orson Dausman of Jackson.
Grandparents of the bride are Ruby Wolfe of Bastrop, La., and the late Crawford Wolfe, the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer French, the late Evelyn French, the late Margie French, Dorothy French and Lucille French, both of Monroe, La.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Sylvia Marie Dausman of Fort Meyers, Fla. and the late Orson Dausman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stark of Rockford, Ill.
A local harpist provided the music for the ceremony and Annie Vermilya, cousin of the bridegroom, was the soloist.
The bride was presented in marriage by her family and escorted by her father. She wore a light ivory sheath, silk beaded gown with intricate bugle beads motif scattered throughout with a delicate beaded finished hemline.
She carried an arm bouquet of peach "sari" roses, highlighted with red and yellow freesia. She also carried a bridal handkerchief from Venice, Italy, wrapped around the childhood Bible of her mother-in-law. Inside the Bible, she carried a hand sewn lace angel, also from Venice. The angel and pink roses placed on a chair were in memory of her sister, Tiffani French.
Matron of honor was April Harman Hosch of Meridian and maid of honor was Elizabeth Book of Atlanta.
Bridesmaids were Alyssa Dausman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., sister of the bridegroom; Dara Weidmann of Baton Rouge, La.; Alexa Wier of New Orleans; Catherine Cress of Easley, S.C.; Julie Keaton of Jackson; Betsy Sikes and Erika Selenburg, both of Atlanta; and Kim Knutsen of Brandon.
Flower girl was Kayla Knutsen of Brandon.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Dausman of Birmingham, Ala., brother of the bridegroom; Todd Marshall French of Starkville, brother of the bride; William Ward of Jackson; David Johnson, Michael Jacobs and Scott Gideon, all of Madison; George Gourlay and Paul Millette, both of Ridgeland; Henry Burkhalter of Atlanta; Paul Knutsen of Brandon; David Cress of Easley; and Nikki Morgan of Clinton.
Ring bearer was Connor Johnson of Madison.
An outdoor reception was held ocean side following the ceremony. The band, The Islanders of Montego Bay provided the music for the evening.
Assisting with the wedding and reception was Tanya Harmon.
After a honeymoon in Montego Bay, the couple resides in Ridgeland.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the historic Ritz-Carlton White Witch Club House. Guests were treated to a performance by a calypso band on the lawn and elevated panoramic views of Jamaica's mountainous countryside and the turquoise-blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. After dinner, guests shared memories and toasted the couple with best wishes.
On the morning of the wedding, the bride and her party were treated to a bridal breakfast hosted by Tanya Harman and April Hosch.
COLEMAN, EVANS
Evelyn Beaty Evans and John Nelson Coleman, both of Birmingham, Ala., were married Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Mount Sterling Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph H. Reams officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Evans of Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Algernon Sidney Coleman Jr. of Montgomery.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. William Gordon Paul of Butler, the late William Homer Morris of Geneva, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henry Evans Jr. of Butler.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Algernon Sidney Coleman Sr. and the late Mr. Coleman and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Herbert Harris Sr., all of Montgomery.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Eduardo Vargas, cellist, with accompanying viola and violinists, and Michael Johnson, trumpeter.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white re-embroidered English lace. The A-line skirt featured a chapel-length train. Her heirloom veil was of Brussels lace.
Rachael Purcell Evans of Butler attended her sister as maid of honor.
Other attendants were nieces of the bridegroom, Mary Caroline Coleman and Ann Coleman Upchurch of Montgomery.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Algernon Sidney Coleman III, Algernon Sidney Coleman IV and William Kendrick Upchurch III, all of Montgomery, Anton Henry Gaede III of Birmingham and James Dansby Evans Jr. of Butler.
Children who attended the couple were family members, Ann Evans Andrews, Julia Dorothy Andrews, Mary Seldon Andrews, William Harris Evans, Stephen Ross Evans, Anton Henry Gaede IV, Charles Hampton Morris, William Hart Morris, Sarah Dansby Suggs, Emily Elizabeth Suggs, Dorothy Ann Suggs, Lucy Oliver Upchurch and Maggie Morris Wood.
A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at Choctaw Country Club following the ceremony. Music was provided by "Sensation" of New Orleans.
After a honeymoon in Little Palm Island, Fla., the couple resides in Birmingham.
