KENNEDY, POLK

Holly Suzanne Polk and Robert Bradford Kennedy were joined in Christian marriage on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jason Bird officiating the double-ring candlelight ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Scianna Sr. of Picayune and Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Polk of Laurel, Md. She is the granddaughter of Ferne Gaddis of Picayune and the late Allen Paul English; Ayeleen Polk of Hattiesburg and the late Earl E. Polk.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kennedy of Quitman. He is the grandson of Annette Hutto of Quitman and the late Craig Hutto; Mary Kennedy of Quitman and the late Bernice Kennedy.
Chad and Paige Polk, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, Christi Matens and Lori King provided the worship in music. Sidney Covington and Greer Goldman provided piano and organ preludes and accompaniment. Scripture reading was provided by Julie Fetters, cousin of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of diamond white silk organza. Embroidered flowers, pearls and bugle beads adorned the Basque waist bodice. Scattered pearls and beads were detailed on the full organza skirt extending to a chapel-length train.
Her waterfall veil of silk illusion fell from a comb adorned with seed pearls and beads. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white bridal roses.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Paige Polk of Meridian. Bridesmaids were Robyn English of Hattiesburg, Jill Kyser of Clinton, Corie Tuthill of Jackson and Amy Zeringue of Meridian. Flower girls were Mandy Reitmeier and Christina Bertram.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Bill English of Hattiesburg, Noel Sharp of Jackson, Brian Coker of Scottsboro, Ala., and Mark Bosarge of Quitman. Jordy Reitmeier served as ring bearer. Ushers were Chad Polk, Steve Scianna Jr. and Wade Henley.
Attending the guest register was Maye Peacock, great-aunt of the bride. Program attendants were Robin Shehane, Laurie Powell and Leigh Ann Palmer.
The bride's parents honored the couple with a reception in the fellowship hall following the ceremony. Tea girls were Morgan Patterson, Jessica Bird and Lindsey Bancroft. Serving the bride and bridegroom's cakes were Laurie Powell, Pamela Brown, Freida Dobson and Debbie Carter.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at D.T. Grinders.
After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Meridian, where the bridegroom is a physical therapist at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center and the bride teaches second grade at Poplar Springs Elementary School.
ADKINS, MASSEY
Lisa M. Massey and Carl M. Adkins, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at State Boulevard Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. D.L. "Buddy" Massey of Meridian, Brenda Clearman of Meridian and Ted Adkins of Union.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ocel R. Black Sr., Ruby Massey and the late Dalma Massey.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Durward Loper, Mary Adkins and the late Mondale Adkins.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Melissa Lowe, pianist; Jessie Bennett, trumpeter and soloist; Jason Davidson and Michelle Pollard, soloists.
The bride was give in marriage by her father. She wore a white matte satin gown featuring a fitted bodice of Alencon lace, pearls and iridescent sequins with an off-the-shoulder neckline, long lace and satin sleeves. The full skirt was adorned with Alencon lace and the low back was complemented with satin buttons and a bow at the waistline. The full cathedral-length train was enhanced with rows of matte satin over English net and a scalloped lace hemline.
Krista Davidson of Sebastopol attended her sister as matron of honor. Other attendants were Carrie Beall Roberts, Tabitha Black Garrison, Sarah Kimble and Tabitha Easterling Pugh, all of Meridian.
Sarah Pollard of Byram was flower girl and Alissa Davidson of Sebastopol was junior flower girl.
Kevin Craft of Lake Charles, La., was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Ronnie Sharp of Panama City, Fla., Adam Rice, Eddie Mitchell, Robert Rodriguez and Raymondo Sesmasurias, all of NAS Meridian.
Ryan Hanner of Lanette, Ala., was ring bearer.
Rice bag attendant was Madison Berry and register attendant was Stephannie Jellenc.
A reception was held at the church's Family Life Center following the ceremony. Assisting were Amy Lenoir, Pat Sharp, Misty Williams, Susan Powell, Pat Buckley, Rebecca Creekmore and Lois McCary.
The couple resides in Holly Ridge, N.C.
TUCKER, MITCHELL
Katherine Boult Mitchell of Tupelo and Lawrence Ricks Tucker of Meridian were married Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at First United Methodist Church of Tupelo, with the Revs. William McAlilly and John Sudduth officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Guy Mitchell III of Tupelo and Dr. and Mrs. Frank Tucker Jr. of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Watson Sudduth of Vicksburg and the late Mr. Sudduth; Mrs. Guy Mitchell Jr. of Tupelo and the late Mr. Mitchell.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. George Judson Thornton of Kosciusko and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howard Tucker of Canton.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Robert P. Mathis, harpist; and Mrs. John Sudduth, flutist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length gown of ivory organza. The bodice was covered in medallions of Brussels lace, beaded with pearls. Her cathedral-length train was of illusion covered with lace and pearls.
Matron of honor was Elizabeth Mitchell Frug of Oxford. Other attendants were Dorothy Huntress Cooper of Dallas, Amy Woodard Glenn of Atlanta, Catherine McNamara Grier of New York, Melissa Richey Petty of Boulder, Colo., Tracy Taylor Sproule of Montgomery, Ala., and Catherine Annette Wendel of San Francisco. Mary Barrett Tucker of Meridian was flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Frank Howard Tucker III, Judson Thornton Tucker, Davis Hasting Tucker and Judson Thornton Tucker Jr., all of Meridian, Matthew Meader Crosby of Memphis, Tenn., Thomas Dewey Crowson of Austin, Texas, William Benjamin Hand of Baltimore, Md., Christopher Allen Mathes of New Orleans and Don Luis Frug of Oxford.
Joseph Taylor Whitaker of Montgomery was ring bearer.
A reception was held at the Tupelo Country Club following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple resides in Atlanta.
