YORK, Ala. Acting on an anonymous tip, York Police Department and other area law enforcement officers confiscated cash, drugs and a vehicle with a combined value of more than $250,000 Saturday.
Thomas said the tips led to the arrest of Richard Sellers Jr., 31, and Robert McVay, 47, both of York.
Sellers was jailed Saturday night on a charge of drug trafficking. McVay was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Seized in the bust were a brand new Cadillac Seville, $5,541 in cash and about 41 pounds of marijuana.
Sellers is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Sumter County Court, Hatter said. Since McVay is charged with a misdemeanor, he will be released after posting bond.
He said several Alabama law enforcement agencies assisted with the stake-out after it was confirmed by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department's K-9 Unit that the packages headed for York contained drugs.
