The Annual Relay for Life Golf Tournament went on Saturday, despite some late evening showers and with nearly 150 golfers participating at Lakeview Golf Course, the event had to be deemed a rousing success.
The event, a team scramble, is a spinoff of the annual Relay for Life Walkathon which is held to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Al Tines, Chuck Gordon and Jason Anders took first place in Flight One with a score of 56.
Mark Peavey, Rex Peavey and Charlie Luke came in a close second with a 57.
The top three winners in each Flight advance to the American Cancer Society state championships at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club Sept. 20. The day's longest drive went to Vernon Mott, while the closest to the hole went to Bill Koch and Wade Parker, respectively.
