Services for Lewis Clarke "Babe" Pearce will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Merrill Wade officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pearce, 94, of Meridian, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in his home. He was former president of the Jaycees, president of Northwood Country Club and served as president of Meridian School Board. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Downtown Club and Meridian Housing Authority. Mr. Pearce was a member of the vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He owned and operated the Royal Crown Bottling company of Meridian, served as president of Mississippi Bottlers Association and was former owner of Meridian Wood Products.
Babe was a fine athlete dedicated fan and supporter of the University of Alabama, where he graduated in 1929. During his time at Bama, he played in two Rose Bowl games. He was a lifetime member of the "A" Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Evans Pearce, a daughter, Kay Pearce Dickson, a grandson, Pearce Dickson and his wife, Michelle, a granddaughter, Laura Dickson Grice and her husband, Tim, two great-grandchildren, Clarke and Blair Dickson, all of Meridian; other survivors include, Sara C. McDaniel of Wetumpka, Ala., Johnston Coppock and his wife, Shirley, of Springville, Ala. and Sam Coppock of Chandler, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Henderson Pearce.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Pallbearers will be members of the vestry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be M.F. "Buddy" Kahlmus, George Rea, Dan Self, Charles Wright, John Smith and Allen Stewart.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
LOUISE ELIZABETH HAMMONS HOLLOWAY
QUITMAN Services for Louise Elizabeth Hammons Holloway were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Kottenbrook and Barry Burris officiating. Burial was to be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Holloway, 88, a native of Ruston, La. and resident of Quitman, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Community and Church during the 80 years she resided in Ruston. She had a great passion for flowers, people and cooking and excelled in all three areas.
Mrs. Holloway was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston and First Baptist Church in Quitman, Lincoln Parish Home Demonstration Club, VFW Auxiliary, Woodmen of the World Auxiliary and a member of the Mature Notes Choir.
Survivors include her son, Ronald G. Holloway Sr. and his wife, Mernell; three grandchildren, Ronald G. Holloway Jr. and his wife, Le Nan, of Quitman, Shelley Turner of Laurel and Richard Shawn Holloway of Starkville; four great-grandchildren, Christian Holloway Turner, Nicholas Drake Turner, Ronald Glen Holloway III and Richard Alec Holloway; two nieces, Jennie Price and Amanda McLean; and a special caregiver and friend, Kathryn Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, R.G. Holloway.
Pallbearers were J.G. Kufel, Charlie Livingston, Jim Crepes, Larry Fountain, Danny Denham and Paul Biglane.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Riley Coleman will be held today at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. David Richardson and Sanny Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery.
Mr. Coleman, 76, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Leake Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Coleman of Philadelphia; four daughters, Patsy Strawbridge and Joyce Morse, both of Cleveland, Wevette Cumberland and Sally Wilkins, both of Carthage; six sons, Tommy Dertinger of Soso, Felson "Red" Dertinger, Freddie Dertinger and Johnny Coleman, all of Philadelphia, Meady Dertinger of Cleveland and Bert Coleman of Merigold; two brothers, Ray Coleman of Marshall, Texas and O.T. Coleman of Ruleville; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Strickland, 84, of Quitman, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Strickland of Quitman; two sons, Bonnie Strickland of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Robert J. Strickland of New Brunswick, N.J.; four daughters, Mary Cobb, Lucille Andrews, Kate Brown and Marie Barnes, all of Quitman; four sisters, Carrie Payne of Picayune, Flora Jasper and Mary Gordon of Quitman and Gertrude Bailey of Pachuta; five brothers, Richard Plummer Jr. and Charles J. Plummer of Pachuta, Charles F. Plummer of Battle Creek, Mich., Leo Plummer of Joliet, Ill. and Leon Plummer of Stonewall; 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Services for Inoe Vivian Norris will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Campbell and Mamie Lunsford officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery.
Mrs. Norris, 91, of Chunky, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two sons, John M. Norris of Chunky and Albert Norris of Texas City, Texas; a daughter, Mary Dell Wilson of Liberty, Texas; three sisters, Lorreta Hendricks and Laura Clark, both of Birmingham, Ala. and Sunshine Slaton of Porterville; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Norris and a son, James Norris.
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
