BARBARA TAYLOR THOMPSON
Barbara Taylor Thompson, formerly of Birmingham, Ala., died at the age of 75 in Meridian. She was the wife of the late Richard Bishop Thompson and beloved mother of daughters Kris Oliver, Bethany Gibson and Deborah Yarrow. She was born on Jan. 30, 1926, in Omaha, Neb., to May Holleman Taylor and Orville McBride Taylor. Her family later moved to her maternal family home in Purvis, where she graduated from Purvis High School.
Mrs. Thompson worked as a secretary for the American Red Cross at Camp Shelby, during World War II. It was there she met and married her husband, Capt. Richard Bishop Thompson. After the war they moved to Jackson, where Barbara worked for the state legislative offices. They moved to Birmingham where they raised their family and Barbara continued to be active as a secretary for various firms and as a member of All Saints and St. Mary's Episcopal Churches.
Although Barbara's interests revolved primarily around her family, she was a very talented artist and loved playing bridge with her husband and friends. She also loved the outdoors and was especially happy spending weekends on the family's boat on the Tennessee River.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Prior to her move to Meridian, she returned to Hattiesburg to the home of her mother and there was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents and brother as well as by her husband who died in 1972.
Survivors include her three daughters, Kris Oliver of Birmingham; Bethany Gibson of Chicago and Deborah Yarrow of Central S.C.; a sister, Justine Taylor Loyer of Biloxi; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.

MACON Services for Clara Triplett Doss will be held Monday at noon at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Mapp officiating. Burial will be in Louisville Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Doss, 95, of Macon, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Noxubee General Hospital.
Survivors include a son, John Albert Doss of Ormond Beach, Fla.
The family requests memorials be made to Elderly Care Center of Macon, 1016 Magnolia Drive, Macon, MS 39341.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Kendall Perkins will be held today at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Church of God in Sebastopol with the Rev. Otha Lee Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery in Scott County with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Perkins, 53, of Morton, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Perkins of Morton; two daughters, Rhonda Stinson and Vicky Craft, both of Morton; a son, Kendall Dwight Perkins of Morton; his mother, Tilda Krimm of Morton; two sisters, Mary Cox of Forest and Mildred Warren of Morton; and two brothers, Dennis Perkins of Forest and Thomas Perkins of Homewood.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Perkins.
Visitation will be at the church until service time.

DEKALB Services for Willie Mae Hudnall will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Albert Johnson and Weldon Short officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hudnall, 67, of DeKalb, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Sam Hudnall and his wife, Dorothy, of Daleville, and Curtis Hudnall and his wife, Linda, of Bailey; two daughters, Mary Grace and her husband, Roy, and Margaret Broach and her husband, Johnny, all of DeKalb; three sisters, Odie R. Naylor and her husband, Elton, of Gary, Ind., Geneva McNeil and her husband, Solman, of DeKalb, and Girtha Cole and her husband, Fred, of Meridian; a brother, Bert Hampton Jr. of Chicago; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Harvey, 77, of Noxapater, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille McAdory of Noxapater; a daughter, Judy Wilkes of Noxapater; three brothers, Doyle McAdory and Jack McAdory, both of Noxapater, and Leroy McAdory of Charleston, S.C.; six sisters, Shirley Price of Cullman, Ala., Mary Alice Allen of Noxapater, Elizabeth Taylor of Florence, Ala., Glenda Fulton of Louisville, Brenda Brantley of Madison and Faye Burkes of Senatobia.
