Northwest drops EMCC

The East Mississippi Community College Lions' recent positive streak came to an abrupt halt against Northwest Community College as they dropped the first game of the doubleheader 7-6, and fell in the closer, 6-0.
The Lions (4-17) notched four runs in the third to pull to within 6-5, but they could get no closer.
Jay Blackburn took the loss for EMCC.
Josh Buckley and J.D. Harbour each managed doubles for Bill Baldner's club.
Jaron Andrews banged out two hits of EMCC's nine hits, including a home run, while Buckley and Trey Wall each had two hits.
In the second game, Northwest was never threatened, as Scooba only managed two hits.
Kevin Long took the loss, for the Lions, who face Holmes at home in a Saturday doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
