Vikings win big over Hebron Christian

The Central Academy Vikings continued their climb this season with a 15-5 run-ruling of Hebron Christian in Macon Thursday.
Hebron took a brief 3-2 lead in the top of the second inning and added on another run in the top of the third.
But three runs in the third and fourth, as well as a six-run fifth provided provided the offense the Vikings (9-3) would need to end the game early.
Chris Rushing picked up the mound win for Central to improve to 2-0 by only giving up three hits.
The Vikings had a big day at the plate with many hitters doing damage in the 16-hit attack.
Drew Powell went 3-for-4 and Tyler Huerkamp, 2-for-5.
But the biggest stick for the Vikings came in the form of Justin Marro, who went 4-for-4 with three doubles. His five RBIs accounted for a third of the offense. Von Gomel had a 3-for-3 effort with a double. Ken Hailey and Tony Sudduth each had doubles.
Hebron Christian hurt its chances with six errors.
The Vikings will face off with Wayne Academy at home today at 3 p.m.
Copiah 3, Lamar 1: The Raiders led 1-0 after 41/2 innings only to have Copiah tie the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth.
The Colonels then scored twice on three hits in the sixth to take the win at Gallman.
Calen Cline was the winning pitcher with Justin Brewer taking the loss.
Lamar fell to 9-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The Raiders had five hits with Nick Lisi collecting a single and a double.

Clarkdale 17, Nanih Waiya 3: The Lady Bulldogs improved to 22-4 with the rout of Nanih Waiya.
JorD'an Orr (6-1) got the win with Alana Hickman taking the loss.
Megan Potate went 4-for-4 to lead Clarkdale. Lindsey Stamm went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Emily Howard had two hits including a home run. Orr had a pair of doubles. Morgan Wright and Savannah Satcher both had a pair of singles.
Paige Sullivan went 2-for-3 to lead Nanih Waiya.
