East Mississippi sweeps Bevill

The East Mississippi Community College baseball team returned to action Monday, sweeping a double-header from Bevill.
The Lions won the first game 7-3 and took game two 6-1.
In the first game, EMCC used 10 hits to overcome three errors and pick up the win.
Trey Wall came on in relief of Lion starter Jay Blackburn and gave up three hits while striking out three in four innings of work to pick up the win.
Left fielder Todd Harcrow went 3-for-4 for the Lions, including an RBI triple in the sixth inning.
Catcher Jaron Andrews went 2-for-4 for the Lions and second baseman Ashley Chism was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's.
EMCC 6, Bevill 1, Game 2: The Lions made the most of their hits in the second game, scoring six runs on eight hits.
Steve Oglesby went the distance for EMCC allowing only four hits while fanning seven Bevill batters to pick up the win and improve his record to 2-6.
Ben Mason was 2-for-3 for the Lions including a double. Josh Perry also went 2-for-3 and had a pair of RBI's. Former West Lauderdale standout J.D. Harbour had a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with a pair of RBI's and one run scored. And Chris Ball scored three runs for EMCC.
East Mississippi is now 9-21 on the year will host a double-header against Danville (Ill.) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. before traveling to Itawamba on Friday for a North Division double-header. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
