May means much more Meridian golf

The local golf season in Meridian is in full swing and there are a number of tournaments that area players will be involved in the coming months.
Here are a few of the events that will be held at area courses.
Jimmie Rodgers Tournament: Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival Tournament will be held Thursday, May 3 at Briarwood Country Club.
Two Man 9999: Newton CC will hold a two man 9999 tournament (nine holes of each scramble, 4 Ball, alternate shot and total score) on May 5-6.
State Am: Qualifying for state amateur will be Monday, May 7 at Briarwood.
Eagle Club/Alumni: The Southern Miss, East Central District Eagle Club/Alumni Golf Tournament is slated for May 14 at Northwood CC. Honored guests include head football coach Jeff Bower and president Horace Fleming.
Mississippi Senior Invitational: May 15-18 at Northwood.
Senior Women: Mississippi Senior Women Tournament, Wednesday, May 17 at Briarwood Country Club.
Member-Guest: Briarwood Country Club's Member-Guest Tournament is May 19-20.
Ed Lewis Tournament: Ed Lewis Memorial Day Tournament, May 26-28 at Northwood.
Wheelin' Classic: The second annual tourney will be held at Lakeview Golf Course Saturday, May, 19.
Henderson Steel Corporate Outing: will be held at Briarwood CC Wednesday, May 23. For more information call Rob McGraw.
