Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said nothing was apparently taken during a break-in this weekend at the East Mississippi Drug Task Force building.
The incident occurred at 6:19 p.m. Saturday at the EMDTF building on Highway 45 South.
Sollie said the culprits entered the building through a rear door, attempting at first to kick in the door. Once they discovered the door opens to the outside, the burglars used pruning shears to pry the door open, he said.
Sollie said investigators inventoried the building, but found nothing missing. So far, no motive has been established and no leads have been developed as to who the suspect or suspects are.
Deputies were alerted to the break-in when the burglars set off the building's alarm system. No one was in the building at the time. Officers arrived on the scene in five minutes.
The East Mississippi Drug Task Force, headed by Maj. Steve Spears, includes office space for about 10 investigators.
Residents with information can call CrimeStoppers at 485-1860.
