Winning begats winning.
This idiom could be used in describing the Lamar School golf team, which captured its sixth state championship in the past seven years, when the Raiders blew past the rest of the pack Monday to win the Mississippi Private School Association Academy AAA state championship at Patrick Farms Golf Club in Brandon.
The Raiders bested nearest competitor Prarie View Academy by 17 shots, firing a composite score of 298.
Ole Miss signee Reid Davis once again showed just why he will be playing for the Rebels, by firing a two under par 69 to capture medalist honors.
Other scores for Lamar School included J.T. Williamson's 75, Winston Powell's 76 and Patton Valentine, who carded a 78.
The overall championship is Thursday at Canebrake Golf Course in Hattiesburg.
The Raiders have won all 12 tournaments they have participated in this season.
