Wheelin' Sportsmen Classic: The Second Annual NWTF event will be held at Lakeview Golf Course May 19. Registration is set for 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes for top three in top three flights. MLS Camps: Major League Soccer will hold summer soccer camps on the Delta State University campus June 18-22. Ages 2-4, times 9-9:45 a.m., $48 includes shirt and ball. Black American World Qualifier: Seventh Annual USSSA Black American World Qualifying Tournament, May 19-20 at Legion Park on South Drive in Jackson. Entry fee $180 for sanctioned teams; $200 for non-sanctioned. Divisions include men's competitive, men's recreation and women's open. Deadline for entry is May 14. First place awards include team trophy, a World tournament berth, 15 T-shirts and $300 travel money. Awards handed down through four places, as well as MVP, offensive and defensive awards will be given for each division. Time limit 1 hour, 10 minutes, USSSA approved softballs required. Sidnee's Play Pen: First-ever Sidnee's Play Pen Men's Tournament, May 25-27 at Toomsuba Ball Park. Coaches meeting on May 23 at 7 p.m. at the park. Men's division, four home run limit. First place gives team trophy and 15 individual trophies. Second and third trophies given, as well as tournament MVP award. Entry fee is $100. William Carey Fast-Pitch Camp: The second annual Carrie Byrd Fast-Pitch Softball Camp is set for May 31-June 2 on the William Carey College campus in Hattiesburg from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. The camp features WCC head coach and camp director Carrie Byrd and assistant coach Heather Austin. Activities include detailed instruction in the areas of pitching and catching, defense, base-running and scrimmages. The camp is open to girls of all ages and skill levels. Day camp cost of $150 includes lunch, T-shirt and instruction. Overnight camp cost of $200 includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, dorm, T-shirt and instruction. Any application received after May 18 will be assessed a $75 late fee. The camp will be held at the Timberton Softball Complex. Ole Miss Softball Camps: For girls ages 8-18 on the Oxford campus. Overnight hitting camp is June 2-3, with registration set for 9-10 a.m. on June 2. Fee for all campers is $150 with a non-refundable deposit of $50 accompanying each application. Summer residential camp is June 19-21, with registration set for June 19 from 9-10 a.m. No pitching instruction is offered during this camp. Fees are $200 for resident campers and $150 for day campers with a non-refundable deposit of $50 accompanying each application. Ole Miss softball coaches and players serve as camp instructors.
