Hundreds of students, parents and teachers gathered Tuesday night in the gym at Meridian High School for the annual Honors and Awards Program.
More than 150 students and were recognized with awards and scholarships.
Leadership and scholarship awards presented:
Elizabeth Trawick received the Melinda Weathers Award for being an all-around student who excelled in academics, athletic extracurricular activities, leadership skills and positive attitude.
Katie Barnes received the Jennie Ruth Crump Award for excelling in qualities of scholarship, leadership and good citizenship.
Tyshaela Clayton received the Class of 1968 Virginia Graham Memorial Scholarship for showing leadership, academic promise and service. The scholarship was established by friends of the late Virginia Graham, a beloved teacher and counselor on the MHS faculty for many years, to encourage promising students to continue their education.
Stacey Douglas received the Pilot Club Award for outstanding all-around leadership, service and scholarship.
Tyler Richardson received the Alex Loeb Award for outstanding all-around leadership, service and scholarship.
Ellen Heimann and Nathan Maust received the Skewes Award for excelling in scholarship, leadership and promotion of good citizenship and service to the school community.
Randi Munoz received the Meyer Davidson Leadership Award for exhibiting the qualities of leadership, personal integrity, citizenship and acknowledgement of leadership abilities by fellow students.
Jennifer Hermetz received the I.A. Rosenbaum Scholarship Award for excelling in leadership qualities, excellence in scholarship, participation in athletics and extracurricular activities, recognition as a leader by fellow students and citizenship.
