QUITMAN Graveside services for Joseph Mike Shirley were held Monday at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. David Menasco officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shirley, 99, of Meridian, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at East Mississippi State Hospital.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

MACON Graveside services for Maud Yates Murphey were held Monday at Oddfellows Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Palmertree officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Murphey, 96, of Macon, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include two great-nieces, two great-nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Murphey Jr.
The family requests memorials be made to Central Academy, Macon, MS.
MARY LOIS BUSH

QUITMAN Services for Mary Lois Bush will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Russ Wilson and Clay Allison officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in West Clarke County.
Mrs. Bush, 60, of Laurel, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at South Central Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Sean Bush and two daughters, Karen Bush and Kathleen Chancellor, all of Laurel.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Gary Wayne Miller will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with the Revs. Andy Murray, Hal Bates and James Martin Snowden officiating. Burial will be in Collinsville Baptist Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller, 59, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville. Mr. Miller was a graduate of East Central Community College and attended the University of Southern Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Walker Miller of Meridian; two daughters, Tammy White and her husband, Shannon, of Taylorsville, and Terri Stewart and her husband, Mark, of Collinsville; two granddaughters, Lauren Agent of Collinsville and Presley White of Taylorsville; his mother, Neadra Lockwood, a brother, Kent Miller, a nephew, Dave Miller and his wife, Casey, a great-nephew, Luke Miller, and his mother-in-law, Eleze Walker, all of Collinsville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Miller; and his grandparents, Sinclair and Lora Thames, and Henry and Bettie Miller.
The family requests memorials be made to Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060.
Pallbearers will be U.S. Postal employees, Glen Reinhold, A.J. Cook, Bobby Boyette, Haskel Smith, Dwayne Havard, Mickey Vick, Melvin Burnett, Franklin McKinney, Howard Mosley and Hank Gandy.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the adult One Men's Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
VACARA MCFARLAND

QUITMAN Services for Vacara McFarland will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in DeSoto on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Mrs. McFarland, 79, of DeSoto, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas McFarland Sr. and a daughter, Frances Davis, both of DeSoto; a son, Douglas McFarland Jr. of St. Louis; a sister, Annie Vera McDonald and a brother, George Thompson Jr., both of Pittsburg, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
