PHILADELPHIA Services for Bonnie Kate Jones will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Paul Cain and Buddy Covington officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, 71, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Restcare No. 1 in Philadelphia. She was a former sales clerk with Seward's Department Store in Philadelphia. Mrs. Jones was a native and longtime resident of the Bloom Community in Neshoba County. She was a member of Bloomfield Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Jones, two sons, Edward Jones and Gary Jones, all of Philadelphia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Michael Bryan Jones.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Anderson, Ronnie Lofton, Tim Lofton, Jerry Stokes, Jim Whittle Jr. and Jerry Wilkerson.
ELIZABETH ANN MCKNATT BAUM
Services for Elizabeth Ann McKnatt Baum will be held at a later date at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington, Tenn. Burial will be in Bethuel Cemetery in Millington, Tenn.
Mrs. Baum, 43, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar Baum of Covington; a son, Brian Turbyfill of Meridian; a stepdaughter, Ashley Baum of Covington; her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Mendius of Meridian; two sisters, Bea Miller of Arnaudville, La. and Mary Veal of Florence S.C.; four brothers, Ernest O'Neal McKnatt Sr. of Memphis, Walter McKnatt of Chandler, Ariz., Billy McKnatt of Jacksonville, Fla., and John E. McKnatt of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest O'Neal McKnatt Sr.
WILLIAM HOWARD SPENCE
NEWTON Services for William Howard Spence will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church, with the Revs. Gus Merritt, Dr. Richard Ethridge, Stan Buckley and Tim Lee officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home of Newton County in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Spence, 88, of Decatur, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Newton Regional Hospital. Mr. Spence was a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church, which he served in many capacities. He was self employed as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his daughter, Elaine Spence Brown, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Spence, two sisters, Lois Wilcher and Gladys Boatner and her husband, Edison, all of Meridian; five grandchildren, Sherry Brown Howle of Germantown, Tenn., Jack Brown of Madison, Charlie Spence of Colorado, Philip Spence and William Morris both of Meridian; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lou Spence, two sons, Morris Spence and Jesse Spence, and a grandson, William G. Spence.
The family requests memorials be made to Clarke-Venable Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Jack Brown, Mike Howle, John Howle, William Spence, Philip Spence, Charlie Spence, Bruce Cater, Nathan and Neil Cater and Todd Reeves.
NOLAN MILLER
Services for Nolan Miller will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Clark officiating. Burial will be in Little Hope Cemetery in Toomsuba.
Mr. Miller, 73, of Meridian, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at East Mississippi State Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Arletha Miller, of Moultrie, Ga.; four sons, Danny Miller and his wife, Hazel,of Charleston, S.C., Dewight Miller and his wife, Keishar, of Tifton, Ga., Nolan Miller and his wife, Adrienne, of Ardmore, Ala., and Roger Miller and his wife, Regina, of Moultrie; five daughters, Daisy M. Hopkins of Meridian, Sandra Nelson of Chicago, Cassandra Johnson of Italy, Angileka Barfield and her husband, Calvin, of Moultrie, and Terah Miller of Moultrie; 31 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
