Baseball
Lamr Baseball Camp: will be held May 29-June 1. This camp, which be taught by Lamar baseball coach Ronnie Key, is for kids in grades K-5. All camps will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon with a morning concession break. Each camper needs to bring own bat and glove. Fee is $60 for the week. To enroll, contact coach Key at 482-7278 or 1345.
Wildcat Baseball Camp: The Meridian High School Wildcat Baseball Camp will be held May 29-June 1 at John Moss Baseball Field.
The camp is open to boys ages 9-14. Camp sessions will be held from 9 a.m. until Noon each day. The cost is $40.
The camp will include individual instruction, bunting games, pitching games, a radar gun to clock pitches, video taping of batting, camp T-shirt and a scrimmage on the last day of camp.
Players will be grouped according to age and ability.
Registration will take place at John Moss Field from 8:30-9 a.m. on May 29.

Rookie League Baseball: Registration for Rookie League Baseball will be held this year at Phil Hardin Park. All players must register, including last year's players. Registration fee is $45 and must be paid upon registration. New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate.
Registration will take place on the following dates:
June 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
June 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
June 9, 10 a.m.-Noon
June 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
June 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
June 16, 10 a.m.-Noon
Basketball
Wildcat Basketball Camp: Meridian High will host a basketball camp for girls and boys in grades 3-8. The camp will be May 28-31 at
Turnage gymnasium. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is only $30. Camp includes a t-shirt and trophies. For applications and more information, please contact camp instructor Ernie Watson at 485-8124 or 482-5983.
ECCC Boys Camps: East Central Community College Boys Basketball Camps. Junior High (grades 4-8) June 3-6; Senior High (grades 9-12) June 10-13. Delta State Girls Camps: Delta State University girls' summer basketball camps, June 3-7 and June 17-21 for girls grades 7-12. Cost of camp is $220 for resident camper and $110 for commuter campers. A $25 deposit is required. Schools with eight or more resident campers will be given a $10 discount per player. Delta State Boys Team Camp: Delta State University boys' team camp, July 13-15 on the DSU campus. Fee is $125 for overnight campers and $75 for commuters. Each team will need $100 deposit to reserve spot in camp. Teams will play 10 games and will be seeded into a tournament. Erick Dampier Camp: Overnight basketball camp with former Mississippi State standout and current Golden State Warrior Erick Dampier stressing fundamental skills. June 21-23 at Millsaps College in Jackson. Boys and girls ages 7-18. Cost is $150. For more information, contact Don at (601)-264-9490. Tuition includes overnight dorm accomodations, meals, camp t-shirt, certificate of participation and an autographed picture of Dampier. Several high school coaches will assist in the instruction.
Ten Star Basketball Camp: Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All-Star summer basketball camp. Applications are open to boys ages 8-19 and girls ages 10-19. Players are selected by invitation only. Past participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Jerry Stackhouse, Grant Hill, Bobby Hurley, Antawn Jamison, Christian Laettner, Tom Gugliotta and Trajan Langdon. Camps located throughout the nation. College scholarships are possible. For an evaluation form, call (704)-568-6801 by July 15.
Cheerleading
JCJC Camp: The Jones County Junior College cheerleaders will sponsor their annual cheerleader camp June 11-13. Interested individuals, private squads, elementary and junior high school squads may attend. Camp runs June 11 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., June 12 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and June 13 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per cheerleader, which includes instruction and camp T-shirt. Football
Steve McNair Camp: Overnight football camp that will stress fundamental skills, headed up by Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair. For boys ages 9-18, June 14-16 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston. Cost is $175 per player, and includes overnight dorm accomodations, meals, camp t-shirt, certificate of participation and an autographed picture of Steve McNair. Several top high school and community college coaches will provide instruction, with McNair and other NFL players also in attendance. For more information, contact Don at (601)-264-9490.
Derrick Mason/Blaine Bishop Camp: David Lipscomb University in Nashville, June 28-July 1. Open to boys ages 8 to 18. Featuring Derrick Mason, Blaine Bishop, Randall Godfrey, Chris Sanders and other Tennessee Titans' players, as well as college coaches from Virginia Tech, Memphis, Missouri, Kansas State and Oklahoma. Free Junior Golf Tournaments: The Meridian Junior Golf Association will be holding several free tournamens open to golfers age 10, 11 and 12 during the month of June. The format for the events will be 4-man scramble and prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will also be provided.
The dates and locations for the tournaments are as follows:

Tuesday, June 19th at Lakeview
Monday, June 25th at Ponta Creek

Decatur Ladies Invitational: 2-Lady Select will be held May 26 at 9 a.m. at Decatur CC. Fee is $80. per team. For more information, contact Dectar CC.
Second Annual Metro Ambulance Golf Tournament: will be held June 16 at Lakeview Golf Course. Three person Scramble. Fee is $35. Benefits go to St. Jude Children's Hospital. For more information call Clark Wilson at 483-2260. $10 mulligans, door prizes available.
