KATHERINE CURRY BARBER
Services for Katherine Curry Barber will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chunky Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Campbell and Curtis Guess officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Barber, 81, of Chunky, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in her home. She was a retired nurse employed with Rush Foundation Hospital and Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Ms. Barber was a member of the Mississippi Board of Nursing, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Hickory Reading Club and the Chunky Homemakers Club.
Survivors include three sons, Earl Barber and his wife, Debbie, of Mesa, Ariz., Chet Barber and his wife, Sandy, of Natchez and Tim Barber and his wife, Patti, of Chunky; five sisters, Caroline Taylor and Pat Bauer, both of Meridian, Jane McKibben of Pensacola, Fla., Ruby Richardson of Catherine, Ala. and Betty Ratcliff of Houston, Texas; a brother, Donald Curry of Meridian; two granddaughters, nine step-grandchildren, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mettro Barber.
Pallbearers will be Roger Shirley, Stan Nelson, Billy Joe Gressett, Charles Hurst, Johnny Clark and Rusty Kastla.
Retired riverboat cook
PHILADELPHIA Services for Wayne Breedlove will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Lavon Boatner and Scotty Boatner officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Breedlove, 70, of Philadelphia, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Breedlove, a daughter, Debra Branning, three sons, Mitchell Breedlove, Mark Breedlove and Micky Breedlove, all of Philadelphia; a sister, Bonnie Boatner of Noxapater; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Breedlove.
BILOXI Services for Dot Kornegay will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Riemann Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kornegay, 79, of Biloxi, died Monday, June 11, 2001, in Biloxi. She was a native of Meridian and a long time resident of Biloxi. She was a member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Kornegay of Biloxi; two sons, Kenny Kornegay of Ridgeland and Jerry Kornegay of Nashville; a daughter, Lanelle Kornegay McGee of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Ben Satterwhite of Brandon; a sister, Nell Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to Quality Hospice, 1001 Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS 39530.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
WILLIE EDWARD WHITLOCK
Retired from Central Construction
Services for Willie Edward Whitlock will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. M.C. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Barker Cemetery.
Mr. Whitlock, 63, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Whitlock of Marion; two sons, Willie E. Whitlock Jr. and James A. Whitlock, both of Meridian; six daughters, Sheree Moore of Meridian, Nikki Whitlock of Los Angeles, Carrie Whitlock and Omira Whitlock, both of San Diego, Connie Akers and Freda SZeto, both of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Lillie Ann Pitts of Mobile, Ala.; four brothers, Leo Whitlock Jr. of Dallas, John Whitlock of Birmingham, James Christian Whitlock of Tucson, Ariz. and Tony Ruffin of Meridian; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
GRACIE MAE DELK
Services for Gracie Mae Delk will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Tamola Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will be Mt. Hebron Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Delk, 78, of Lauderdale, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include four sons, Eddie Delk of Vicksburg, Mose Delk of East Over, S.C., Arthur Boyd of Merced, Calif. and Robert Boyd of Albany, N.Y.; two daughters, Julia Ann Marshall and Dianne Boyd, both of Meridian; two brothers, Ross Boyd of East St. Louis, Ill. and Wyatt Boyd of Meridian; four sisters, Rosie Boyd of Void, Ala., Beatrice Grace of Tamola, Emma Jean Hopson of East St. Louis and Elda Parker of Void; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30-9:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
