Quitman woman appears on Price is Right

By By Ben Alexander/The Meridian Star
June 13, 2001
For more than 20 years Clarke County resident Cindi Kennedy watched, waited and dreamed about hearing The Price is Right announcer Rod Roddy say those words. She appeared on the game show Tuesday.
Kennedy, her mother and her best friend traveled to California for the taping of the show.
Once selected as a contestant Kennedy won one of the bidding rounds winning herself an $1,800 musical clock in the process before losing the chance to win a new Mercury Cougar.
The Quitman resident thinks her Southern charm may be part of why she was selected.
Is the "big wheel" as heavy as it looks?
