Bates, Horton

The Rev. and Mrs. Hal Bates of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Krista Anne, to Jason Edward "Jay" Horton, son of Eddie and Betty Horton of Springhill, Tenn., formerly of Collinsville.
The wedding will be held Saturday, July 7, 2001, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Collinsville.
Miss Bates is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Darrell Briscoe of Scobey; Claude Bates of Pearl and the late Helen Bates.
The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received an associate in arts degree in nursing from Meridian Community College.
Miss Bates is currently employed by Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Horton is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Duvall Rigdon and Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Horton, all of Union.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and attended East Mississippi Community College.
Mr. Horton is currently a member of the Mississippi Air National Guard Reserve and is employed by Cingular Wireless of Philadelphia.
A reception will be held in the church's Family Life Center following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
