Dr. and Mrs. R. Edward Williams of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Marie Susan, to Adam Stuart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Wayne Stuart of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 6:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church.
Miss Williams is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Williams of Stone Mountain, Ga. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Blackwell of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Lamar School and a cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Theta Chi and served as secretary for Golden Key National Honor Society.
Mr. Stuart is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Stuart of Hattiesburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin I. Scruggs of Winona.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of The King's Academy and currently attends Meridian Community College.
He is self-employed and is enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
