Bowlers gear up for final round

The first day of the bowling competition in the 10th annual State Games of Mississippi was held at Dixie Bowl Lanes Saturday under WIBC and ABC rules.
Competitors bowled in a host of different divisions, broken down according to the bowlers' average.
The lowest division, which is Division 1, used the 100-below average, and the highest group, Division 5, used 161-and-above.
In the first day's action, Belinda Adkins led Division 3 of the WIBC with a total score of 991. Becky Gatham had a 951 and LaDonna Otwell bowled a 913.
In the WIBC Division 4, Ramona M. Crane rolled a 1063, followed by Janice Kasper with a 1028 and Julie Hibbs, who bowled a 990.
In ABC Division 3, Randy Alexander bowled a 1108, while Bob Jordan had a 1003.
Division 4 of ABC saw Robby Relinski roll a 1254, Jason Pierce a 1247 and Clyde Clay a 989.
The ABC Division 5 had Stan Bottorff bowl a1261, while Don Sebella bowled a 1245 and Larry Hattell had a 1200.
Only one entry was entered in the YABA on the first day of competition, as Josh Coleman bowled a 660.
The bowling competition will continue today at Dixie Bowl begining at noon, and continuing through approximately 2 p.m., wth all divisions competing before medals are awarded.
