Mr. and Mrs. George Walker of Lawrence announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamanda, to Corey Huber, son of Kent Huber of Petal and Laura Morgan of Hattiesburg.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Newton.
Miss Walker is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hershell Glaze of Newton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Henry Walker of Hickory.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Newton County Academy and East Central Community College. She is a cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in educational psychology.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Theta Chi and Golden Key National Honor Society.
Miss Walker is a preschool teacher with First United Methodist Church of Starkville.
Mr. Huber is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huber and Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mann, all of Hattiesburg. He is the great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Van Chambers.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Oak Grove High School. He attended Jones County Junior College before transferring to Mississippi State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in forestry.
At MSU, he is a member of the Forestry Club.
Mr. Huber is an electrician assistant at the Mississippi State University Physical Plant.
Family and friends are invited to attend the ceremony with a reception following in the Family Life Building.
