Sheriff's department looking for truck driver who caused damage

By Staff
July 4, 2001
The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is looking for the driver of a dual rear-wheel, red Ford pickup truck who is believed to be responsible for running over more than 10 mailboxes Monday night along Bolen-Long Creek Road and Long Creek Road.
Road signs on Long Creek Road were also damaged.
Major Ward Calhoun said it was first thought the acts were vandalism, but as of Tuesday evening investigators thought the damage may have been caused by a drunk driver.
The truck will be damaged. Evidence of the vehicle was found by authorities. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department or the Crimestoppers number, 917-8888.
