Janet J. Fortenberry and R. Patrick Blythe, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, May 26, 2001, in Jackson Square in New Orleans with Judge Sonja Spears officiating.
Parents of the couple are William L. Johnson Jr. and Dianne Blythe of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. James Blythe of Atlanta.
Grandparents of the bride are Theresa Johnson of Jackson and Lorraine Brown of Cincinnati.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Williams of Meridian and Katherine Blythe of Kansas City.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory satin evening-length biased-cut slip dress. Freshwater pearls and crystals covered the straps. Her headpiece was a wire-wrapped band of freshwater pearls and crystals.
Matron of honor was Elizabeth Duggins and best man was David Duggins, both of Louisville, Ky.
Ushers were D. Blair Cross and Derrick Brown of Meridian.
A reception was held in the courtyard at Hotel St. Marie following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in New Orleans, the couple resides in Meridian.
