Mr. and Mrs. Leon H. Carter Jr. of Quitman announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann, to Todd Victor Simonis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Simonis of DePere, Wis.
The wedding will be held Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Quitman.
Miss Carter is the granddaughter of Hilda Carter and the late Leon H. Carter Sr., Grave Taylor and the late Clarence Taylor, all of Quitman.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Quitman High School and received a bachelor's degree in English from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. She also received a master's degree in teaching English as a second language.
While attending MC, she was a member of the Mortar Board Honor Society, Priority singing ensemble, Nenamoosha Social Tribe and MC Hall of Fame.
Mr. Simonis is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Simonis of Oconomowoc, Wis.; the late John Russell of Brookfield, Wis. and Dory Russell of Green Bay, Wis.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of DePere High School and received a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin, Osh Kosh. He earned a master's degree in educational ministries from Wheaton College.
While in college, he was a member of the tennis and the university debate teams.
He is employed as a youth minister at Trinity Church.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
