Marion Marie Wall and Lawrence Franklin Hatten III, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Central United Methodist Church with the Revs. Charles W. Nicholson Sr. and James M. Harrison officiating.
Parents of the couple are Jim and Diane Wall and Larry and Patricia Hatten, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Benny and Nema Baylis of Meridian and the late Blanche Baylis; Earline Wall of Meridian and the late James Marion Wall.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tedder of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hatten of Brooklyn.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Barry Germany, pianist; Sue Shoffiett, flutist; and Amy Massengale, harpist and cellist. Soloists were Sherry Brooks, aunt of the bride, and Billy Melton.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a two-piece gown of pearl satin featuring Cordinelli embroidery of rocals, iridescent beads and seed pearls. The A-lined skirt fell into a full chapel-length train enhanced with pearls, beads and rocals along the hemline. She wore a tiara of pearls and rhinestones with tiers of illusion falling to chapel-length.
Gina Elizabeth Wall of Meridian attended her sister as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Leslie Baylis Gwaltney of Altus, Okla., Nicole Diane Gwaltney of Hattiesburg, Shanna Lynn Morris of Jackson, Jennifer Lynn Pouncey of Meridian, Jillian Rose James of Pascagoula, Ashley Christen Tullos of Hattiesburg and Amber Hope McIlwain of Waynesboro.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Clay Roundtree of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nik Marquardt of Biloxi, David Rashad Close of Meridian, and Christopher Joseph Brown of Hattiesburg.
Program attendants were Benjamin Brooks of Hattiesburg, Shelley Bernstein, Laura Bernstein and Nickolee Tedder, all of Meridian.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony. Assisting were Dana Boyken, Susie Broadhead, Jaime Broadhead, Elizabeth Fair, Emily Fair, Melissa Goldman and Debbie Tucker.
After a seven-day cruise to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Oxford.
